Dog Licensing Requirement
All dogs in Caliente are required by Municipal Code to be licensed. (CMC Section 11.960)
Rabies Vaccination Required
Before a dog license can be issued, proof of current rabies vaccination administered by a licensed veterinarian must be provided. Rabies vaccinations are effective for one to three years, depending on the age of the dog at vaccination and the dog’s prior vaccination history. Ask your veterinarian for more information.
Licensing Your Dog
The City offers a one year license. The rabies vaccination must be good for at least 30 days preceding the date of licensing. Proof of spay/neuter must be shown at time of licensing.
License Tag
A tag is issued with each license and must be attached to the dog’s collar/harness at all times. Lost or destroyed tags must be replaced immediately
